Yoga is one of the disciplines that protrude in helping people to disconnect from the worries and stress of everyday life. But a couple of sessions a week is not enough to offset the burden of routine work, the steady increase of stimuli, unhealthy food and lack of sleep. Convinced, publisher Angelika Taschen has compiled in a book (Yoga, Great Retreats, Editorial Taschen) the best places in the world to spend some vacation days at a specialized yoga retreat. They are places where the best teachers teach and also of everyday practice, provide healthy food, the opportunity for total relaxation and a natural environment that inspires. The options are varied. The book finds 34 sites in America, Europe and Asia and includes from ashrams with a spiritual orientation to retreat with a simple social environment, through five-star resorts that offer yoga classes daily. Here we go into some of them.
Ananda in the Himalayas
Ananda Palace, located 250 kilometers north of New Delhi, rises in the fog, surrounded by green hills near the Himalayas. One of his most charming corners to practice yoga is a garden over the mountains from which can be seen below, a nearby valley through which winds the Ganges, the river that runs through the Northeast. Most teachers come from Triyoga, the famous school of yoga London Primrose Hill; Bikram College, also in London, and Juvamukti, Berlin. The hotel has 12 yurts, a small house and one for a maximum of 30 guests. In its cuisine dominates the Turkish and vegetarian food.
Schloss Elmau , Munich
It is a palace located 140 kilometers south of Munich . The Elmau stands alone at the foot of the massif of Wetterstein . This refuge surrounded by rolling pastures gently sloping , was built between 1914 and 1916 and between 2006 and 2007 was completely remodeled . Amansala means calm water, a successful name for a hotel located right in front of the beaches of Tulum , Mexico , two hours from Cancun Airport . The resort is solar powered and has 25 cabins. Power yoga or relaxation , biking or kayaking and Mayan clay treatments are some of the activities that stand out. Its cuisine including vegetarian dishes and Mexican specialties such as ceviche , mango , tacos , papaya , jicama and peppers . Recommend starting the day with a brisk walk along the beach and finish under some sheets made with Frette linen .
Kamalaya Wellness, Tailandia
In this corner of Thailand lotus flowers in a light pink tone, that yogis is a symbol of transformation , they are always part of the landscape. Amid the enclosure Kamalaya , 45 minutes away from Koh Samui , including honeysuckle and jagged rock formations , there is a cave where Buddhist monks meditate for centuries.
